Introduction
The Sony FE 24-70mm f/2.8 GM II is a marvel of engineering. Sony took one of the most popular lenses in the world and made it smaller, lighter, sharper, and faster.
Handling
It feels like a prime lens. Weighing just 695g, it perfectly balances on bodies like the A7 IV or A7R V. The addition of the aperture ring gives it that tactile, pro feel.
Image Quality
Corner-to-corner sharpness is outstanding. It resolves the 61MP of the A7R V without breaking a sweat. Chromatic aberration is virtually non-existent.
Verdict
This is the gold standard for standard zooms. If you can afford it, there is simply no better lens in this focal range for E-mount.
