Nikon Z fc
Style meets substance. It looks like a film camera but performs like a modern mirrorless. Perfect for content creators who care about aesthetics.
Nikon Z fc Review: Style over Substance?
Pros
- Gorgeous vintage design
- Dedicated shutter/ISO/exposure dials
- Fully articulating screen
- Competent autofocus
Cons
- Plastic build feels a bit cheap
- No grip (needs accessory)
- Auto mode lever is easy to bump
Introduction
The Nikon Z fc is all about vibes. It looks exactly like the FM2 film camera from the 80s. But inside, it's essentially a Nikon Z50. Is that a bad thing?
Design
It turns heads. People will stop you on the street to ask about it. The dials are functional and fun to use. However, unlike the Zf, the Z fc is made of plastic (magnesium alloy chassis but plastic exterior finish). It feels light, which is good for travel, but lacks the premium density of the full-frame Zf.
Performance
It shoots great photos. The 20.9MP sensor is a proven performer. The autofocus is good enough for casual shooting, travel, and portraits. It's not a sports camera, but it doesn't try to be.
Verdict
If you want a camera that matches your outfit and takes great photos, the Z fc is perfect. Using it is a joy.
